Texas Hill Country Wineries has been closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19, and out of concern for the health and safety of our Texas wine supporters, member wineries, and local communities — and in line with Governor Abbots executive orders set on June 26th to close all wineries and tastings rooms in Texas  — we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Wine Journey Event, scheduled for July 31st – August 16th in Texas Wine Country.

As a ticket holder to The Wine Journey Event (or former Wine and Wildflower Journey Event) you may choose one of two options: receive a voucher for 100% of your purchase to be used towards any future Texas Hill Country Wineries Passport Event in 2020 or 2021, or transfer your ticket purchase to a donation to THCW, a 501(c)3 non-profit association.  When you choose to donate your ticket, you are supporting our 60+ family owned and operated wineries and vineyards, as well as helping to promote the development of the Texas Hill Country wine industry. Please review additional details for each option below.

  • Passport Ticket Voucher
    • You may apply your voucher towards any future Texas Hill Country Wineries Passport events in 2020 or 2021; this includes the Texas Wine Month Passport Event, The Christmas Wine Affair, The Wine Lovers Celebration or the Wine and Wildflower Journey.
    • Vouchers will expire on December 3, 2021 (the start of Christmas Wine Affair 2021)
    • When using your voucher to purchase a future Texas Hill Country Wineries Passport ticket, you MUST use the email address that you initially signed up with for The Wine Journey (or Wine and Wildflower Journey). Your voucher is associated with your email address.
    • To redeem your voucher you MUST select the “Redeem Voucher” option listed in the email that was sent out on Friday, July 17th.
  • Passport Ticket Donation
    • If you would like the funds from your ticket purchase to become a charitable donation towards Texas Hill Country Wineries 501c-3 non-profit. Please select this option in the email that was sent out on Friday, July 17th.
    • All donors will receive a donation receipt upon selecting this option.
    • All donors will be entered into a drawing for the chance to receive 1 of 8 YETI prize packages (3 – YETI Roadie 24 Coolers & 2-pack YETI Wine Tumbler sets and 5 – 2-pack YETI Wine Tumbler sets). One entry per donor.

Please select your voucher OR donation option before Friday, September 25, 2020.  All tickets not redeemed for vouchers by September 25, 2020 will automatically be transferred to donations.

In place of in-person tastings, many Texas Hill Country Wineries are finding other ways for Texas wine fans to show support through a combo of live streamed events, curbside wine pickup and virtual wine tastings. For additional details on these offerings and more click HERE.

Want to stay up to date on the latest Texas wine news? Sign up for the Texas Hill Country Wineries newsletter HERE and follow us on Facebook at @TexasHillCountryWineries.

In the meantime, please keep in mind that wineries are still offering curbside and to-go services, many restaurants are open for socially distanced dining, B&B’s are booking rooms and locally owned retail shops are still open.  We would love to encourage you to keep your reservations and visit the Hill Country in a different way next month and support local businesses who are ready to see you!

From all of us at Texas Hill Country Wineries, we thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support of the Texas Wine Industry — we all look forward to sipping with you in Texas Wine Country soon!

If you have questions, please contact us via email at info@texaswinetrail.com and lindsey@texaswinetrail.com.

Are there a limited number of tickets?

Yes and they typically sell out by the first weekend of the Trail.  We do not hold back any tickets.

What is the difference between Couples and Individuals tickets?

Couples tickets are good for ANY TWO people (husband/wife, sisters, mother/daughter, friends, etc).  Couples receive TWO tastings, both people must be present together for the couples tastings (ie: one can not receive tastings on the first day of the event and the other person on another day of the event at the same winery).

Individual tickets are for ONE person, you will receive ONE tasting at each participating winery.

I can’t use my ticket, can I get a refund?

No, but tickets are transferable so you can give it away or sell it.

What days is my ticket good for?

All 17 days of the event.

What wineries are included?

You can find a list the participating wineries on the Wine and Wildflower Journey ticket page, or you can find a list of them on our MAP page using the Wine and Wildflower Journey map tag.

I am giving this as a gift, can you change the name on the ticket?

The tickets are transferrable so it does not matter that your name is on it. When gifting though, you can choose “Ship To” and put the receivers name in the shipping info and this will put their name on the digital ticket.

Tickets

A confirmation email will be sent to you once your purchase transaction is successful.  The confirmation email is your ticket with your custom barcode.  You can either print, save to your phone or take a screenshot of your Digital Passport Barcode to be scanned at each participating winery when you visit.

What time does the trail start?

The trail starts when individual wineries are open (usually 10-11am) and ends at closing of the wineries (5-6pm).  Please check out individual winery hours on the list of participating wineries above.

Where does the trail start?

It starts wherever you would like.  Please use the MAP and filter for Wine and Wildflower Journey to plan out your trip.

What about transportation?

This is a self-guided trail so you will use your own transportation or book with a Tour Company.  Please use a Designate Driver.

Are wine glasses included with ticket or at each winery?

No glasses are included.  Each winery will have wine glasses for you to use while tasting but are not included to take home.  Wine glasses are for sale at each winery if you would like to purchase separately.
