2022 Hill Country Wine Symposium

Description

8th Annual Hill Country Symposium

presented byTDA Uncork Texas Wines

January 17-19, 2022   |   Horseshoe Bay Resort

We’re back in person for 2022! The Annual Reception, Grape Exchange and Scholarship Awards Presentation are back along with a few more networking opportunities including the inaugural THCW Winemaker Dinner, organized Hospitality Suites, Wednesday Morning Breakfast Tacos and more.

The Hill Country Wine Symposium was established in 2015 by Texas Hill Country Wineries.  Symposium includes two days of seminars, lectures and panel discussions with over 25 sessions in 6 dedicated tracks.: Vineyard, Winery, Business, Sales & Marketing, Staff Focus & New Vineyard/Winery.  Past speakers have included Tammy Boatright-VingDirect, Al Wagner-Clos du Val, Clark Smith-WineSmith, Don Brady-Robert Hall Winery, Gary Finnan-GFC|Evoke, Doug Beckett-Peachy Canyon Winery, Christophe Hedges-Hedges Family Estate, Dr Andrew Landers-Cornell University, Sandra Hess-DTC Wine Workshops, Dr Gregory Jones-Linfield College, Michael Wangbickler-Balzac Communications and many more.

Symposium also includes an intimate trade show for the opportunity to connect with your current Texas clients while meeting new potential accounts.  With a small ratio of exhibitors to attendees, there is ample time and space to visit with all attendees.  Sponsors, Exhibitors and Attendees,  are able to enjoy the 2 hour networking reception, sharing wines from across Texas and enjoying local cocktails and beer at the end of the first day.

Special presentations during the two lunch breaks include a State of the Texas Wine Industry: Presidents Panel and the Hill Country Wine Industry Scholarship Awards Presentation.  The Presidents Panel will host presidents from Texas Hill Country Wineries, Texas Wine & Grape Growers Association and High Plains Winegrowers Association with updates on each association initiatives and collaborations.  To date, over $45K in scholarships have been awarded to students across Texas working towards a wine industry related field.

The Grape Exchange event has been a priority during the Symposium from the beginning even though the format has changed over the years.  The goal of this tasting event is to connect Growers who have available fruit or Wineries/Crush Operations who have available Texas bulk wine with wineries in need. The Grape Exchange session will include tables with available fruit and available bulk Texas wine in a “live-classifieds” setting.

GRAPE EXCHANGE sponsored by WINECUB

  • The Grape Exchange is an in-person classifieds event!  Here, Growers and Wineries/Custom Crush will pour wine from your fruit or available Texas bulk wine for Wineries who are looking for both.  You’re getting to showcase the fruits of your labor and this is your opportunity to connect with wineries, talk contracts, upcoming acreage, taste great Texas wine and much more.
  • If you are a grower and have, or expect to have, fruit available next year this is a great chance to share wines made from your fruit with wineries looking for more.  Or, if you are a winery or custom crush facility with available Texas bulk wine, pull some samples and share with growing wineries.
  • The Grape Exchange event for Available Fruit and Texas Bulk Wine will be hosted during the regular one hour sessions on Tuesday or Wednesday (TBD).

If you are interested in a table at the 2022 Grape Exchange, please EMAIL US
