About Messina Hof Hill Country

Messina Hof’s history began over 40 years ago, and now includes accolades including the most awarded winery in Texas and largest producer of Texas wine. In 1977, founders Paul Vincent and Merrill Bonarrigo helped re-introduce the concept of winemaking in Texas, establishing Messina Hof has the fourth winery in the state. The Messina Hof brand has grown from producing 1,300 gallons to now producing approximately 200,000 gallons of Texas Wine per year with three locations in Texas: Bryan, Fredericksburg and Grapevine. Today, their son, Paul Mitchell Bonarrigo, and his wife, Karen, continue the legacy of world-class wines and hospitality with the same founding principles of Family, Tradition and Romance and continue to pioneer Texas Wine to new and innovative frontiers.

What Makes Messina Hof Hill Country Unique

Messina Hof Hill Country is Messina Hof’s second winery location, opening its doors in 2011. Sitting on nearly 10 acres in the heart of Texas wine country along Highway 290, this winery also has its own vineyard and on-site accommodations at The Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast. The spacious tasting room features over 50 Messina Hof wines (the largest selection of Texas Wines in the Hill Country) including wine on tap and canned wines. As a company, the presence and expansion in the Hill Country region reflects Messina Hof’s legacy and commitment to remain a leader in the vastly growing Texas wine industry.
