What Makes Bending Branch Winery Unique
Bending Branch Winery is the Tannat House of Texas. It is known for its intense wines – from the high acidity in Picpoul Blanc to the bold tannins in Tannat. The winery was co-founded in 2009 by Winemaker Bob Young, M.D., MPH, and his wife Brenda. Bending Branch uses innovative winemaking processes such as Cryo-Maceration and Flash Détente to improve the color, structure, and flavor of red wines. Dr. Bob Young produces “Next World Wines” using this philosophy.
Bending Branch Winery was awarded BEST OF HERD in the 2021 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Wine Competition, GRAND CHAMPION in the 2020 FWSSR/BRIT Texas Sustainable Winegrowing Competition, and TOP TEXAS WINERY in the 2018 Houston Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition.
