Vineyard Assistant- Limestone Terrace

Limestone Terrace is looking to hire a vineyard assistant starting April 2021. This is an opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience working on a small estate vineyard in the exciting Texas Hill Country AVA. This position requires the ability to carry out a range of tasks related to viticulture and vineyard management. Tasks include but are not limited to: shoot thinning, suckering, vine training, hedging, applying bird netting & general canopy management.  

 Minimum Requirements

  • A sense of humor and great attitude, even when exhausted
  • Willingness to work long hours in the hot Texas sun 40+ hours per week. 
  • Ability to absorb instructions for a task and implement in the vineyard   without much oversight.
  • Have some base level of comfort safely operating equipment (ATV’s) 
  • Must love dogs, especially mischievous puppies 

The ideal candidate is hard working, ambitious, has an interest working in viticulture, vineyard management, or the wine industry, and is comfortable working independently. The job is physically demanding with frequent walking, standing for long periods of time and conducting repetitive tasks. The time frame for this position would start ASAP and end late June. It could potentially lead into other opportunities for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who is excited about being a part of this business and can work hard and also enjoy a beer at the end of the day. Full-Time Entry-Level Cellar Hand Position 

Bending Branch Winery is looking for a hardworking, meticulous entry-level Cellar Hand. This position will follow our winemaker’s guidance and help with all duties involved with the winemaking process. Previous cellar experience is preferred but not required.

Duties for this position will include:  

  • Sanitation of winery and all winery equipment
  • Assistance in operation of crush equipment, pumps, and press
  • Use of tools such as pallet jacks, squeegees, pressure washers, various cleaning equipment
  • Punch-downs, fillings and toppings of barrels

Requirements:  

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk/stand/bend/stoop/kneel for extended periods of time
  • Must have Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • References will be required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be 18 years of age to serve wine to our guests

  • Must possess a team player mentality and want to have fun while working
  • Must be able to work our peak times, including Saturdays, Sundays, and some holidays
  • Must have the ability to multitask and complete duties, tasks, and projects, despite interruptions.
  • Must be able to remain standing and actively working for up to 10 hours with limited breaks
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 45 lbs. repeatedly.

Tasting Room Associate – Kerrville Hills Winery Reports to: Tasting Room Manager

Job Overview: Creates a stellar customer experience for all customers of KHW through direct interaction, sales, and service.

Hours/ Work Week: Part-time (20 – 25 hours/ week), Weekends Required (Thursday – Sunday)

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Follows all opening and closing protocols as set out by the Tasting Room Manager, to provide stellar service from the first customer to the last.
  • Greets customers as they enter, explains tasting/tasting menu and guides the tasting experience.
  • Keeps updated on POS system to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Seeks guidance from Tasting Room Manager for issues that may arise that would cause a disruption to the overall customer experience.
  • Provides backup and support to coworkers in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Asks questions, seeks more information from management and winemaking team to maintain knowledge and understanding that will benefit the customer experience
  • During times when not directly engaged with customers, monitors tasting room for supplies, clean glassware, trash, spills or other issues that may interfere with the customer experience
  • Responds in a cooperative manner to requests from other staff for assistance as needed

Tasting Room Associate: Our tasting room sales associates form the backbone of the customer experience. Responsibilities include working the tasting room and patio areas which include greeting customers, serving wine, answering questions, etc. This is a part-time opportunity, with more hours available during the busy season. Applicants must be able to work at least one weekend day per week, must have a friendly personality, and although knowledge of wine is preferred, it is certainly not necessary.
