Job Overview
Sales Associate focuses on the daily business activities, events, and customer experience at The Hill at Hye
Responsibilities and Duties
• Follows protocols for opening and closing procedures for Tasting Room staff.  Trains and reviews protocols periodically with Tasting House Manager.
• Attends and participates in monthly team meetings.
• Models and encourages an outstanding customer experience through staff interaction, customer relationships, and interpersonal skills.
•  Independently problem solves issues regarding POS.
• Tracks merchandise inventory, and Tasting House supplies (shipping, office, cleaning, etc.); informs the Tasting House Manager of supplies and inventory needed to be ordered.
•  Provides backup and support for Tasting Associates when situations require escalation to management if Tasting House Manager is not available.
•  In cooperation with Marketing and Events Manager, develops and executes events at The Hill at Hye.
• Maintains the Hye Tasting House calendar for reservations and tours, and informs proper personnel calendar events and reservations.
Work Hours and Days
The Tasting House Sales Associate works Wednesday – Sunday, or as needed to properly open and close the Tasting House, or for special events after hours.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities for the facility. Responsible for achieving cash collection and AR goals for the facility. Assistant Vineyard Manager

Love gardening or landscaping? Perissos Vineyards, located in Burnet, is
looking to hire an assistant vineyard manager. Duties include the execution of general
vineyard management work. Works with and trains laborers in areas related to vineyard
management assuring proper procedures and quality of work. Strong communication
skills are essential and the ability to speak Spanish is required. Must have great
people skills. Willingness to work nights and weekends as required throughout the
year.
Must be physically fit, energetic, and able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
repeatedly. Will be exposed to seasonal weather conditions (summer heat, cold
weather, rain) on a regular basis. Having the ability to operate farming equipment and
implements is a plus. Requires complete mobility (walking, bending, and stretching) in
the vineyard on uneven terrain. Must have the ability to work up to 6 days a week for 8-
10 consecutive hours outdoors, and to report to work in early morning hours.

Vineyard Operations Manager | Messina Hof

POSITION SUMMARY
The Vineyard Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operation of multiple vineyards throughout
Texas including all elements of planning, budgeting, purchasing, maintenance, personnel management
and hands on execution of vineyard tasks. This includes hands on management of vineyards owned and
controlled by Messina Hof as well as advising, coordination and assistance to vineyards whose fruit is
contracted to Messina Hof.

-Work closely with the owner to schedule grape deliveries to wineries during harvest.

Driftwood Estate Winery – Harvest Winemaking Team

 Driftwood Estate Winery is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic candidate to join our winemaking team for the upcoming 2022 harvest season. The position will begin in early June and conclude at the end of harvest (typically late September). The candidate will be working on a small cellar crew directly alongside the winemaker and the cellar master. This position will include both vineyard and cellar work as necessary throughout the season. Because we have a small staff, our intern must be dependable, adaptable and be able to commit to the internship and not drop out prior to or during harvest. During the peak harvest period, our intern will be expected to work 5 or 6 days a week. This position may transition to a full-time cellar position depending on harvest performance. 

The Primary duties in the vineyard will be:

– Hand harvesting small estate blocks 

Primary cellar duties will be: 

– Crush equipment preparation and sanitation

2022 Harvest Intern | Longhorn Cellars

Job Description: Expected Start Date: July 2022
Company Description: Longhorn Cellars is a small boutique winery founded in 2018 in
Fredericksburg, TX that produces small batch, hand-crafted, premium wines from fruit grown
exclusively in Texas. Along with its sister vineyard, Veraison Hills Vineyard, we specialize in
growing and producing wines from grapevine varieties originating in warmer to hot regions of
Europe that are well suited to the Texas Hill Country terroir. Current annual production is
approximately 1,700 cases. Varietals we currently work with include Aglianico, Malbec,
Marsanne, Merlot, Montepulciano, Mourvèdre, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Roussanne, Syrah,
Tannat, Tempranillo, and Viognier.

Job Summary: Internship/temporary position available to work with the winery production crew
during the 2022 harvest season. Primary responsibilities will include all aspects of winemaking
in a small-scale production facility under the direction of the winemaker. This includes cleaning
and sanitizing of all winery equipment, receiving fruit from the vineyards, destemming, pressing,
pumping, fermentation management, punch-downs, sampling fruit and must, lab analysis,
making fermentation additions, barreling and tanking of wine, racking, barrel topping, and other
duties as assigned by the winemaker and tasting room manager. This position requires some
overtime and weekend duties during harvest and fermentation.
Skills and Qualifications: Winery and forklift experience is preferred but can be taught to the
right candidate. Excellent attendance, positive attitude, strong attention to detail, ability to work
on a team or independently, and good communication skills are absolute requirements. Be able to
lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, be on your feet for long hours, work in both hot and cold
environments, have good coordination and able to work in confined spaces. Some enology
education or experience is preferred. Preference will be given for at least partial completion of an
enology educational program such as enology certificate programs, associate degree or
bachelor’s degree in enology or related programs.

Facilitate Messina Hof’s high standard of cleanliness and organization in all areas of the Tasting Room including, food areas, deck area, preparation areas and restrooms
Develop sales, achieve sales goals, and control expenses to make the Tasting Room most profitable and run within budgetary guidelines
Develop and achieve sales goals for the Wine Club and VIP programs
Target, promote, solicit, lead, and coordinate groups for tours, tastings, personalized labels, and events.
Promote education, sales, tastings, and parties at the winery
Identify and communicate all items to be promoted based on goals to sales staff
Responsible for cash handling duties including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, and giving change
Responsible for opening and closing procedures
Communicate with guests, co-workers, and business associates in a courteous and professional manner. Must be people and hospitality oriented.
Responsible for monthly inventory and other inventories as needed.
Wine Club and VIP

Engage in Wine Club and VIP customer service activities, database maintenance, and duties to enhance the retention of Wine Club and VIP memberships.
Assist the DTC Department in the execution of in-house Wine Club and VIP events, such as VIP Receptions and Wine Club Pick-Up Parties, to maximize attendance and sales.
Communicate and educate information that is passed from the DTC Department to the staff at Messina Hof Hill Country
Increase Wine Club and VIP Club memberships

Perform other duties as required including assisting other departments as needed

Limestone Terrace Vineyards – Hiring Full-Time Vineyard/Grounds Hand

Our winery and vineyard is hiring a full-time vineyard/ grounds hand. Our estate vineyard is found in the scenic Hill Country of Wimberley, TX. We are very proud of the grapes we grow and wine we make and look forward to growing our small but passionate team. Our ideal candidate is excited about viticulture and hardworking/production oriented. Previous experience in a vineyard is not required, but a high aptitude to learn on the job and work efficiently is.

This position will be full time, although the nature of work will vary greatly with the seasons. Outside of vineyard maintenance work required includes basic landscaping such as mowing, weed whacking, drain construction, as well as general upkeep of property, not limited to but including pressure washing, painting, mild repair work.

Job requirements
– Have experience working outside. Must be able to work long hours in the Texas heat.
– Be willing to learn some basic vine pruning techniques, follow direction and execute basic pruning.
– Be able to perform repetitive motions such as bending over, using hand shears.
– Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
– Must be able to work independently, with little or no supervision at times.
– Must be available to work extended hours when needed (this is primarily March to May).
– Be comfortable driving a gator; able to hook up, backup trailers.
– Ability to demonstrate proficiency with various power tools.
– Have a positive and uplifting attitude!
