Support Your Local Texas Wineries

Although there is a lot of uncertainty on how COVID-19 will impact Texas Hill Country Wineries, we are here for our community. We have felt incredibly lucky for the continued support of our member wineries, vendors, and partners during this time. We are continuing to monitor the situation, please rest assured that we are keeping a close eye on the CDC and Texas Government official websites. At this time, select member wineries will stay open to offer a safe haven and some fresh air in these trying times. We suggest following their social media pages, and subscribing to their newsletters for current updates should anything change.

Each winery is operating with your health, safety, and well-being in mind. We spoke with our members, and they are taking precautions such as:

  • Minimizing the number of tables in their tasting room.
  • Ensuring that these tables are 6ft apart from each other.
  • Eliminating reusing any glasses by providing you with new and fresh glassware.
  • Removing any self-serve water areas from the tasting room. Water is still available but will be provided by a staff member who has gone through health and safety training.
  • Increased frequency of thorough cleaning of high-touch areas like bathrooms, food prep surfaces, bars, door handles, and tables

Our wineries are waiting for you with open arms – metaphorically speaking. If you are planning on stopping by one of the wineries, please give them a call ahead of time. We believe in taking precautions, and Texas wineries are taking the necessary steps to ensure your safety, so you can enjoy your wine time without having to worry!

In addition to increased health and safety measures, several wineries are offering free shipping and/or curbside pick up. We want to ensure your cellar is stocked! Head to your favorite winery’s website for online purchasing. Once you get to the shipping portion during check out, select either the shipping or curbside pick up option. If you are unsure if your favorite winery is offering curbside pick up or free shipping feel free to give them a call. They would love to hear from you! So, how does curbside pick up work? For most of our wineries, you’ll simply order your wines, select the curbside pick up option, head on out to the winery during the curbside pick up times, then call the winery and a tasting room employee will bring you your wines. Enjoy the simplicity of ordering online with our Texas Hill Country Wineries! For a full list of member, wineries click here

If you’re thinking, “I’d love to continue to support my favorite Texas Hill Country Winery, but I don’t want to place an order online or visit,” there is an option for you too! Opt for buying a gift certificate from their online store. This ensures that you support your local winery, which is often a small family-owned and operated business. As a bonus, you’ll be able to redeem that gift certificate and treat yourself once things have settled down!

As an added precaution, Texas Hill Country Wineries Association has decided to postpone the Wine & Wildflower Journey until July 31-August 16, 2020.  While we understand the Wildflowers will not be in bloom during that time, it is a great opportunity to experience Harvest in the Hill Country which offers many unique sights and tastes for guests. All tickets purchased for the event will be honored for the new dates.  If you are a current ticket holder, there is no action needed on your part for this change. Please contact us if you have any questions.

We thank you for continuing to support Texas Hill Country Wineries! If you have any questions about what your local winery is doing to combat the spread of COVID-19 or what options they have for ordering online, please reach out to the individual winery. Remember, we are all in this together. We love the community that has come from making and enjoying great wine in The Texas Hill Country. Texas Hill Country Wineries and the Texas winemaking industry wouldn’t be what it is today without you. Stay informed, and above all else, keep enjoying great Texas Hill Country wine!
