A Picture Perfect Engagement in Texas Hill Country
Engagement season is here, and if you’re one of the lucky couples who got engaged this month, let us say congratulations! The Texas Hill Country hosts thousands of weddings each year, because of its serene setting and breathtaking views. However, this picturesque setting isn’t just for weddings, make it the backdrop to your stunning engagement photos too! Since The Texas Hill Country is sprawling and vast, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite places for your photos.
This incredible grotto with a waterfall is just outside of Austin. All-natural, Hamilton Pool was created when the dome underground a river collapsed thousands of years ago. The waterfall is about 50 feet high and an incredible sight.. Be sure to call ahead or check their website to make sure it’s open they close at times due to water levels or quality issues.

Where modern elegance meets The Texas Hill Country, Prima Vista is a new and unique venue in the Texas Hill Country just outside of Austin. Surrounded by oak trees and the open sky, this is the perfect place to capture the beauty the Texas Hill Country has to offer. There is no shortage of options for where to take photos on their sprawling property, but one of our favorites is their engraved tree located in front of the main building. What better way to celebrate your love than by highlighting the only things you need, you + me. Be sure to call ahead to schedule your session.
Not too far off Highway 290 heading west towards Johnson City, there is plenty to explore at Pedernales Falls State Park. The park is beautiful with several waterfalls, wide-open landscapes and rivers, and greenery. We do recommend you wear hiking clothes and pack your clothes for the photoshoot in your bag. The views from the park are worth the extra hassle, trust us!

Located on Main St. in Fredericksburg, this church has an old-world beauty that will take your breath away. The exterior is charming, but by looking at it, you would never guess how stunning the inside is! If you visit on a weekday, the chances are the church will be empty, making it the perfect setting for your photos. Stepping outside of the church, Fredericksburg as a whole has a lot of historic architecture, and even taking shots from the Main St. could be a great option to provide you with some variety.

The Bluebonnets of Marble Falls are best to visit during wildflower season, which is mid to late Spring. Note that during this time period, it will likely be jam-packed, but it is well worth the trip! The scenery is gorgeous, and the vibrant color of the wildflowers make for a stunning shot. This abandoned house sits just outside of Marble Fall, right off of Highway 281 North after you pass through the town. Your photos will have a beautiful contrast of old world history and newly sprung wildflowers.
